Yep, that's about right. Are you doing this because you are putting the Savage in storage?
It's not a good idea to deliberately run the bike down to reserve: all the 'crud' like water, dirt, etc, settles to the bottom of the tank.
Try to avoid running the bike onto reserve, and if you need to drain the tank for storage or repair, my suggestion would be that you take the tank off the bike and pour the gasoline out.
